White Pass and Yukon Railroad Trip

We had a 4 hour train ride up the valley and back into British Columbia...no customs because we didn't get off the train when they stopped to switch the engine to the back of the train. The seat backs flipped so we were facing forward and back down we went to Skagway. Fabulous scenery even with the cloudy weather.

Here's our engine.

We are all settled in.

This isn't the best picture, but it does show Skagway way down there.

Around the corner we go.

Waterfall with the road above it...hard to see.

Another train ahead of us going over three bridges. Count them.

The lake where we stopped, then went back down.

The actual trail of the Klondike miners.

What scenery!

Over the bridge.

Hugging the cliff.

The light green trees have grown where there were avalanches. The darker black spruce are slow growers.

Train and bridge

Almost end of ride.

Hey, there's our airstreams, right by the railroad.

I stood on these to take some of the pictures.
